Scanning Windows XP with GPOs applied |
|
If you're scanning a local target that happens to be Windows XP, will the scan pick up the GPOs applied to the networked workstation or will this just be a potential false positive/negative in the making?
Would it matter if the networked device is using Active Directory to establish thier password configurations?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, settings made via GPO (or not) will be correctly identified.
It is also not uncommon for GPO settings to not be completely applied to any particular client. Using Secutor Prime at the client can then show when the GPO was not created correctly or some issue cause it to not be completely applied. In most cases we've seen where the GPO is correct but not fully applied doing a gpupdate /force on the client takes care of the issue.
